Relying on Jesus

Faithhopelove.png

Faith is believing when your eyes cannot see the outcome.  A pastor friend of mine, always said Faith is spelled R-I-S-K. And he is right. In order for us to walk out our faith and live it daily, we have to be willing to take risks and trust in God. In our human nature, taking risks can be scary, but in our Christian walk with the Lord, Faith is the number one belief we live out everyday.

The greatest gift in the world was given to you and me, simply because God loves us enough that he wants to spend eternity with you and me; that’s why he sent Jesus.  And we can’t get to God in Heaven without accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior.  It doesn’t matter how much money you make or how many offerings you place in the tithe envelopes at church or if you do all the good in the world, if you fail to accept Jesus, then you can’t get in to Heaven. God sees us at our worst and  yet he still loves us and wants us to come back to him. He wants to be the one we turn to when we are broken, lonely, feeling lost. He is willing to give us eternal life once we repent of our sins, ask for forgiveness and be a light to the world and spread his message to all the nations.  All we have to do is share His story with others and lead them to a life changing relationship with his Son, Jesus Christ.

We need to put our hope in the Lord and his Word. The lessons in the Bible and the promises made over 2000 years ago, are still just as true today.  The Bible is our instruction book for life.

Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark. Isaiah 8:20

The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever. Isaiah 40:1

But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him.  That is how we know we are living in him. 1 John 2:5

Thanks for stopping by, Jesus Loves you! Blessings to all!

Summertime

I remember hearing a song growing up, part of the lyrics were ‘summertime and the living is easy…….Summertime  by  Ella Fitzgerald, that’s all I remember of the song, but I remember the memories that come back when I hear that song. Memories of school being out for the summer and the fun of going to summer camp, spending it with my friends and learning a new craft or riding horses, singing songs by the campfire, telling stories, some true and some not.  Summertime always was a time to gather with friends and family, go to family picnics and reunions and catch up on the news of each family.

As I reached adulthood, it seemed like Summer was just another season, and nothing special happened or at least not very often. Times have changed where everyone is in a hurry now, there are deadlines to meet and the thought of making special plans to get together with family and friends isn’t as easy as it once was. It’s no longer a 9 to 5 world, where your weekends are your weekends to use how you see fit. Everyone works different schedules and times and as much as all of us want to connect and reflect on our lives and where we have been, what we’ve been through, where we are headed-it’s not as simple as it sounds.

SUMMER

Summer also signifies the hot season for most of us. A time to go to the pool  or water park and cool off after a long day of work; cooking meals on the charcoal or gas grill, sipping iced tea or lemonade on the front porch and waving to the neighbors as they go by.

Summer is one of my favorite seasons of the year.  If I could escape winter and spring I would; however living in Ohio does not afford me that luxury at this time.  So when summer temps hit the area, I get excited. No more wearing bulky clothing.  I can drag out my skirts and capri pants..  And the best part is hardly any shoes.  Just flip flops.  Pull my hair up in a ponytail until I can decide how short to get it cut and feel free. We have bonfires in our backyard area, roast marshmallows and enjoy time with family and friends when we can. It is so peaceful to hear the fire crackling and the crickets chirping. Chasing fireflies with our grandchildren and seeing them get so excited as they place them in the jar for a bit!

Summer is also a great time to go to amusement parks or zoos and see the sights and sounds.  Going fishing and just spending time in nature. Not that you can’t accomplish these things in winter or spring, but for me it’s all about summertime.

When the first day of summer hits, summer solstice, the longest day of the year, it signifies days where the sun is up longer than in the winter. Winter time can be a time of the blues, if you don’t get enough sunshine in your life, depending on where you live, of course.

So, now you know why I enjoy the summer months. Autumn is my other favorite. Seeing the changing of the colors and enjoying the beauty God gives us each day.  What is your favorite time of the year and why? I would love to know.

Thanks for stopping by. Blessings to all of you and remember Jesus Loves You!
